Last reviewed . First published . By the ExportKhata team (editorial policy).

Short answer

  • If the EDF applies to you, all invoices raised in October 2026 go in one EDF, filed with your bank by 30 November 2026.
  • Not sure it applies? Ask your bank now, in writing. RBI's FAQ is still pending.

RBI FAQ status: not published as of 17 Oct 2026 (checked on rbi.org.in). No suspension of EDF filing has been announced.

The checklist

  1. List every invoice you raised from 1 to 31 October 2026: number, date, client, country, currency, amount.
  2. Note how each was or will be paid: direct SWIFT, PayPal, Payoneer, Wise, Skydo or other.
  3. Collect the remittance advice or FIRA for anything already paid.
  4. Ask your bank: do you need an EDF from me, in what format, and through which channel?
  5. If yes, fill one consolidated EDF for October, using the bank's format.
  6. For invoices up to ₹10 lakh already paid, prepare the declaration that payment was realised.
  7. Submit by 30 November 2026 and keep the acknowledgement.
  8. Put the next date in your calendar: 30 December 2026 for November invoices.
  9. Track each invoice's 9-month realisation date. An invoice dated 14 October 2026 must be paid by 14 July 2027.
